As a change of pace from my standard essay reviews, the post-finale review of Book One of The Legend of Korra will be done in video format. I feel this will be the most effective way to truly delve into just how this series went wrong. I can’t go into the details (or give a definitive release date), but I’m already hard at work on it. This will certainly be a experiment for me, having never made a video review before. Wish me luck?

As the title vaguely implies, the next three dates of updates (today, the 31st, and January 5th)…there is none. Not that I expect anyone to be eagerly awaiting more ranting and raving from me during the holidays (or rather, nothing I prepared for). On top of everything, this gives me a chance to actively figure out my approach to the Korra re-watch, which is already turning out to be a Herculean task. Rest assured, it will be taken care off by the next real and official update date (January 10th, 2013). So until then, enjoy the holidays, if you can, if you dare.
Incredible. This blog is a year old. Now I feel old. I’m not even done reviewing either show. What have I been doing with my life? What was the point?
I don’t know, but I’m not complaining. Besides, the lot of who read my reviews, liked them, and even gave the occasional feedback: thank you. I likely would have done all of this anyway, but the fact that it’s appreciated by others makes it all the more meaningful. Who knew rambling and trampling on the success of others could be so rewarding?
All jests aside, thank you all for your views and support. If we’re still around after today, expect more of the same, as well as some actual new and exciting things!
Here’s a random song for the occasion:
In addition to actually responding to the numerous comments that have accumulated over the past few weeks on the last episode’s review, this is my new game plan:
1) Re-watch and re-review The Legend of Korra. Since I already know how it ends–and since we all know how I feel about it–watching the series with that in mind is more than fair. In fact, I’m sincerely hoping the series improves with that ending known.
2) Go back and rewrite reviews for episodes whose reviews either weren’t completed or weren’t up to par. This will definitely take a very long time, so don’t expect even the most noted episodes to be updated any time soon.
3) Update the blog every five days instead of three. This is the only way I can effectively update on a timely basis. (And that effectively starts now. If there’s not an update on the established date, simply assume that a dire emergency is the cause.)
3) Set up another blog focused entirely on animation and music. If anyone’s been wondering what the more frequent album references were for, this is partially it. Hopefully I can dedicate just enough time and effort to each blog.
Until next time, here’s hoping everyone has a happy holiday!
